West Texas Guitar Festival

GuitarDo you or someone you know play the guitar? Would your children like to learn techniques from professional guitarists? Maybe you just want to show off your mad skills! If any of these scenarios sound familiar, then the West Texas Guitar Festival is the place to be!

Sponsored by UTPB, the West Texas Jazz Society, JW Pepper and Music World, the West Texas Guitar Festival runs from February 25-27 at UTPB and Crossroads Fellowship. Registration is open to students and players of all ages. Every playing style is welcome; performances can be solo or alongside other instruments.

The cost for registration is $15 per student plus an additional $10 for entry into the competition. Those entering the competition need to prepare two pieces of music for performance: one being from the UIL Prescribed Music List (PML) and a second of the performer's choice. Copies of the music must be supplied to judges. The winner of the competition will be chosen to perform at the Festival Concert at 7:00pm on February 27 at Crossroads.

Deadline for registration is February 1, 2010, so act quickly! All registrants will recieve a complimentary pair of guitar strings courtesy of LaBella.
